2. AO 26 Vegan Food Project

AO 26 Vegan Food project has a bit of everything for everyone with a menu, as implied in the name, totally vegan. Their diverse menu includes raw foods, pastries, “seafood” tapas, delicious smoothies, Asain bowls and a few traditional dishes, like the northern francesinha sandwich. We suggest trying the bifana, which they have mastered by replacing sliced beef and pork with marinated thyme seitan, stacked with cheese, mushrooms and dressing. They rotate with a plate of the day which can be ordered as a menu set, paired with a soup.  They also serve a great selection of biological wines and the desserts are a must.

3. Organi Chiado

The plant-based menu at the Green Affair samples from a few different cultures and cuisines, offering Portuguese dishes, pizzas, a few fusion options and beer and wine. Packed full of flavor and using the freshest ingredients, their vegetarian and vegan sushi makes for a great meal. The minimalist restaurant is decorated mostly by green foliage and is as fresh as the food. 7. Arkhe

Arkhe came to life after the chef, trained in traditional French cuisine, grew tired of the meat industry and recipes which relied on animal products. The chef brings his experience of being raised in Brazil by Portuguese parents to the table, and spices up his dishes with flavors from his travels in Asia and Europe. At Arkhe, perhaps the most refined vegetarian restaurant in Lisbon, you can expect anything but normal, with savory broths, sauces, creams, pestos and gnocchi all topping the menu.
